The work on showcame out of a 6 month residency at Out of the Blueprint by screen printer Ot Pascoe.

This exhibition sees Ot go through the archive of work created during her explorative risograph printing residency, and presents sixteen further pieces of work that show the journey of experimentation in colour and composition that the artist went through in order to inform the four final exhibited works. Ot’s work here uses photography, collage cut-outs and photocopier manipulation to create playful prints of altered realities, that reimagine the artist’s memories of grappling with identity and loneliness in Edinburgh’s changing public spaces over two years. Pushing the boundaries of risograph printing, this new exhibition of Feed Your Head invites you to follow the artist into their 6 month process, and spend time in her imagined world of wobbly machine nonsense.

Out of the Blueprint is a print studio based in Leith that specialises in riso printing, a form of mechanical screen-printing originally from Japan that uses sustainable rice inks and 100% recylced papers. Set up as a social enterprise, the studio provides an eco-printing service for the arts sector, charities and community organisations, using the profits to support their core purpose: to help young artists to realise their potential, whatever stage they’re at.

This exhibition is produced collaboratively between Out of the Blueprint and NHS Lothian Charity: Tonic Arts as part of a partnership committed to bringing vibrant and diverse artwork from young artists into healthcare environments.
