Handle with Care
In partnership with Edinburgh Printmakers, we are proud to present ‘Handle with Care’; an exhibition which explores the meaning and significance of care in our lives and delves into the multifaceted concept of care, through the artwork of four printmakers.
- Rory Hamilton
- Jenny Martin
- Christine Sloman
- Matt Vale
The artists were selected from an open call to members of Edinburgh Printmakers, with artists invited to draw from their personal lived experiences. The participating artists all take a different approach both in their interpretation of the theme and the processes of printmaking, encompassing both the perspectives of those who receive care and those who provide it. Through a diverse range of approaches and techniques, the artists explore topics of self-care, caregiving and receiving, including the people and the objects we hold dear.
We hope the exhibition will offer a space for reflection and connection, inviting viewers to consider the role of care in shaping our relationships, communities, and sense of self. Through the experiences and artwork of the participating artists, the exhibition aims to inspire compassion, empathy, and a renewed appreciation for the power of care in our lives.
